Linda O'Neill is a professionally trained artist who has worked in a wide variety of mediums including photography, digital art, printmaking and painting. She was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area where she owned a photography business, earned her BFA in Printmaking and was a Digital Painter for Lucasfilm's Industrial Light + Magic working on both feature films and commercials.
Over the past decade she has pursued her career in fine art, developing her style in acrylic paint that flows through her many creative outlets. Her paintings are marked by a bold use of color, shapes and patterns while maintaining a careful and truthful representation of the animals and natural subjects of her work. Her studio near Boulder Colorado is named after Abby, a beloved Retriever Mix who passed away in the spring of 2007. Her new studio partner Maisie, an adorable Dutch Shepherd, now adds much appreciated comic relief as only a dog can do.
Linda has developed a loyal following of her Dog Portraits which are known for capturing the true spirit of her canine subjects. One of her most rewarding commissions included works for Guide Dogs for the Blind in California and Oregon. Her dog portraits hang in private collections all over the country. She has received many accolades including publication in the “Best of American Artists” book series and National Juried Art Competitions in California, Oregon, Colorado, Chicago and Arkansas. She has also been featured in numerous publications. Please visit the Press and Testimonials pages for additional information.
