Linda has a rich artistic background which includes professional photography digital art, printmaking and painting. She was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area where she owned a photography business, earned her BFA in Printmaking and was a Digital Painter for Lucasfilm's Industrial Light + Magic.
Today, Linda lives near Boulder Colorado and is best known for her Dog Portrait Paintings. She began painting dogs out of love for her own dog, Abby, whom she and her husband rescued from an animal shelter 10 years ago. Sadly, Abby passed away in March ‘07 at the age of 12...and now Linda has dedicated Abby Creek Studios in Abby’s memory.
Her dog portraits enjoy a nationwide following and are known for capturing the spirit of her canine subjects. Recent commissions include works for the Guide Dogs for the Blind and for the National Greyhound Protection League. In 2006, Linda was selected by Guide Dogs for the Blind to paint their annual Holiday Card. She has been featured in Modern Dog and The Bark Magazines.
Other recent honors include publication in the “Best of American Artists” book series, selection in National Juried Art Competitions in California, Oregon, Colorado and Arkansas. In 2003 she received a merit award from the National Headache Foundation in Chicago for a digital illustration depicting a migraine headache sufferer.
